The sister of one my Grandpa's friends has a dog named Ruby.  Ruby contributes a column to the Crane (MO) Chronicle called "Ruby's Bark Box."  I was just handed the March 3rd issue of the Crane Chronicle.   Ruby's column told about an interesting ad campaign by the Atlanta Humane Society.

Ruby wrote:

I hope a lot of adoptions happened at the rescues and shelters this last week since the weather has been so nice.  My story this week actually happened.  I think it's funny, I hope you get a laugh out of it.  This came from the "Atlanta Daily:"

Single black female seeks male companionship, ethnicity unimportant.  I am a very good-looking girl who LOVES to play.  I love long walks in the woods, riding in your pickup truck, hunting, camping, fishing trips and cozy winter nights lying by the fire.  Candlelight dinner will have me eating out of your hand.  Rub me the right way and watch me respond.  I'll be at the front door when you get home from work, wearing only what nature gave me.  Kiss me and I'm yours.  Call XXX-XXXX and ask for Daisy.

Over 15,000 men found themselves talking to the Atlanta Humane Society about an 8-week-old black Labrador retriever dog.
