This is a great dog stop if you just happen to be driving by.  Or if you're a history nut like my chauffeur and insist on spending 2 hours going out of your way to see a Civil War Site (you know how many squirrels I could have chased instead??).

In the way of history there were only 3 markers decscribing the Jenkins' Ferry engagement that ended the Red River Campaign.  But there's lots of open secluded green area to sniff around.

Quite possibly there is more to this state park than just the few acres we saw, but according to the local fisherman this was really all there was to see other than forests and swamps.

For a behaved dog, this could be a good place to play fetch.
