Green Area Availability : Not Scarce / Not Abundant
Green Area Access : Typical Access
Green Area Size : 5-10 min walk possible
Congestion : Effort minimizes contact with others

Don't be like my chauffeur and park on the north end of this rest area.  The good dog area is on the south end as you enter.

On the north end, what appears to be the official Dog Walk is a 50 foot long stretch of maintained grass that is about 15 feet deep from the curb.  Nearby, down a slope, is a green area beyond (to north) the picnic table area that is about 75 feet by 75 feet with several trees.  The northern-most picnic table could probably be used by a traveling dog's companions without much fuss; it is far enough out-of-the-way.

The area around the Visitor Center building is dense with picnic tables and land is not deep enough behind the building for a dog to wisely use this area.

When we got to the south-end Dog Walk, this dog's tail started wagging.  This is the premier green at this stop.  About an acre in size beyond the people-use area, with a little more wrapping behind the maintenance building, there is lots of good sniffing along the fence and tree lines.  Here we jumped a rabbit along the tree-line and I thoroughly enjoyed the smells.

We noticed several water fountains that appeared to be "freeze-proof" but none worked.  Inside the Visitor Center, which my chauffeur said was modern and clean, was where my water cup got refilled.

North Dog Walk

The north-end dog walk was a disappointment but down the slope is a bigger area for the dog to sniff and mark.

Small Green Area

Down the slope from the north Dog Walk you will find a green area about 75' x 75'.

South End Dog Area

The south end has an away-from-the-crowds dog area that is about an acre.  The fence and tree lines offer lots of good sniffing.  Here we jumped a rabbit in the brush.

North Green Island

There are a couple green "islands" that offer a level of "seclusion" for the traveling dog.  The north end green "island" is easily accessible from parking spots.  We did not dodge incoming cars to visit the green island to the south that you see in the satellite view.  This area on the north end is about 175 feet long and widens out to about 50 feet.
