This is a great rest area.  Though after stopping at the Mississippi Un-Welcome Center an hour earlier, it wouldn't take much to impress. But the rest area had all the amenities needed to impress us:  security, lighted & paved dog walk, lots of green to roam, water pumps, and a unique attraction.

The main attraction for the traveling dog will be the paved dog walk that connects both ends of the parking lot.  We arrived at sunset, so the lighted path was welcomed.  After making one loop, we enjoyed a quick supper and took another walk on the 600-foot dog trail.

At the north end is an interesting pyramid-shape sculpture perfect for photo ops.

Picnic Shelter w/ Water Pump

There are several picnic shelters in the wooded area.  Here the traveling dog can find water.

Green Area

This large open green area is border on the north and south by shady, wooded areas.  There is plenty of opportunity for the traveling dog to explore around and be selective in choosing territory to mark.

Water Pump with hose

For some reason my chauffeur always wants to be near water producing things.  I think he is obsessed w/ emergency baths.

Pyradoptics

This sculpture gives the rest area unique character.  For a treat reward, traveling dogs can have a photo op on the north side steps of the pyramid.
