Along this stretch of I-55 this is by far my favorite exit.  Not only is there a huge (about 2/3 of an acre) green area easily accessible from the parking for people food but there's a great option for long walks.  From the services area the travelling dog can enjoy a great walk to Weiss Park along a well manicured street with a wide median filled with trees.

Green Area #1

This green area is about 1/10 of an acre easily accessed from the pave parking lot south of Pizza Inn or from the lesser used gravel parking lot southeast of the green area.

Green Area #2

This HUGE green area made this exit a Prospect's Pick even before we discovered Weiss Park.  The travelling dog has lots of space to walk around in this space of about 2/3 an acre.  The green area is easily accessed from just about any service stop.

Road to Weiss Park

The travelling dog will love walking the road to Weiss Park.  This tree-lined, well maintained and low-traffic road offers the perfect venue for a dog walk.  The exit layout offers moderately easy walking access to Weiss Park from just about any one of the marked points.  The grass along each side of the road is maintained for about 10 feet off the road.  And the wide median offers an alternative for the dog to walk along and mark many trees.

Weiss Park

Weiss Park offers wide open green spaces where the travelling dog can stretch his or her paws as much as they desire.
