If people needs are not a concern check out nearby I-55 Exit 162.

Shell / Former Subway

The Shell offers out-of-the way green area.  Despite being busy with people coming and going with sandwiches from what was formerly a Subway inside, we were able to park around back.  In addition to the island of green, the perimeter of the parking lot has a maintained area of grass about 6-8 feet wide.

Phillips 66

For the dog requiring deeper exploration into green areas, this is your place.  In addition to lots of green area easily accessed from rear parking, a walk behind the car was towards Boderman Road gives the travelling dog a large maintained green area (about 1/10 acre) away from the crowds.
