Accesible from both directions

ShareThis

Green Area Availability : Can't miss green areas
Green Area Access : Easily Accessed
Green Area Size : Wide open green areas
Congestion : Effort minimizes contact with others
Water Availability : Water Fountains & Well Pumps

This is one of the best Rest Areas we have visited.  While there is lots of traffic it is not difficult for the traveling dog to get away from the crowds and find the perfect spot.  This is a large rest area with vast expanses of green areas.

If travelling along I-30 this is a must stop for the traveling dog.

South End Green Area

The south end offers a huge green area perfect for the traveling dog that needs more than a bathroom break away from the crowds. The triangular green area stays flat and easy walking for approximately 150 yards beyond the pine trees. Among the trees in the picnic area is a water pump.

Official Pet Area

The Official Pet Area is about 1/10 acre usable -- that is the part that you would actually walk on before the ground slopes into gulleys and ditches.  The road you cross is used only by those driving to the overnight camping area - accessible only from eastbound side.  If you're travelling east, this area would be perfect to avoid the crowds.  A walk over to a shelter would be an ideal spot for a picnic lunch.

MORE GREEN!!

Beyond the picnic tables on the north end end is another wide open green area -- more than 1/3 acre for the traveling dog to explore, stretch, and get exercise.
