Unless you're a travelling dog that really enjoys getting wet and muddy, this state park is not for you.  My chauffeur got the crazy idea we'd pay for our trip after reading about a Yorkie that found a large diamond here.  Outside of entering the mine field, there was no access to trails.  Since we arrived 30 minutes prior to the fields opening expecting to do some hiking, we ended up getting an early morning walk around the parking lot and service roads.

My dog Brutis would love playing in the mud! But he would be looking for bones instead of gems, lol!

I don't know about the rest of it, but Coco would LOVE the mud and muck you refer too! Do they have a "shower" facility for dirty dogs? LOL
