The Lookout Tower grabbed our attention and we were disappointed it was “indefinitely closed.”  But this stopped offered lots of low-traffic green space to walk around.  On north side, there was a designated pet area, and a small trail (about 1/10 mile).   The trail opened up to a sizable green area where the ridge-top location provided natural boundaries for well behaved dogs to get some emergency off-leash time playing fetch.   This would be a perfect stop for a picnic break.
