Yukon-Charley Rivers National Preserve Dog & Pet Policy

Alaska
(907) 547-2233

While there are currently no regulations regarding pets in the preserve, visitors should always remain diligent and cautious with animals. All pets should be kept on a leash and monitored. It is not uncommon for pets to attract wild animals. Many visitors employ personal floatation devices for pets when traveling on the Yukon River or side tributaries. Since the Yukon is a silt-laden and extremely cold river, caution should always be taken with pets.

Reminder: Both communities of Eagle and Circle, AK have strict pet leash policies. Please keep pets leashed at all times in these areas as dog teams and kennels are prevalent.
